2025Sep21 - A Longer Practice
Today the students attending were 3s and 2 out of 5. Requests to help lower back pain, as well as to roll out our feet.
Before practice we had a conversation about doing things easy/easier vs. finding ease in everything, even the difficult and painful.
Throughout today's practice, we use my #1 tool and teaching about back pain. If you're in pain, especially when changing from one position to another, HUMMING before you start moving can help lessen and quiet many kinds of muscle and joint related discomforts.
We started with seated awareness and guided meditation. And then explored some challenging seated movements, looking for ease. Keep yourself safe.
We moved to our backs for spine and hip releasing with foot press explorations, before moving belly-down for back engagement with humming and leg lift variations. We transitioned to table for a lunge-pigeon-gate sequence, before moving to standing for balance challenge, rolling out our feet, and standing counter poses. We end with seated awareness and finally meditation or shavasana, your choice. Enjoy!
