2025Oct12 - A Longer Practice
Today the students joining me live were all 3s out of 5, and there were requests for helping with congestion from allergies and respiratory crud.
Props: a tennis or spiky ball, a blanket or padding.
Today in practice, we explored noticing what is known, felt, and obvious, and what is unknown, unfelt, and not obvious. Today’s practice theme explores the 5 qualities of the divine, which if we are divine, then are also qualities we embody: beginning, sustaining, transitioning, revealing, and concealing.
If meditation is the practice of noticing, witnessing, becoming aware, then what are we not yet aware of? How do we calibrate our noticing to be open to what we don’t yet know how to notice?
We started with seated meditation and spinal movement, then explore humming and nasal clearing techniques. After seated and supine warmups and poses, we move to standing to roll out our feet and standing poses. Then we move to seated for final poses and pranayama before meditation and shavasana.
