The students joining me today were 2s and 3s today, all were yoga teachers that have studied with me, and all long time practitioners. We worked at a very deep level today with more advanced techniques. If you are new to yoga, please try these practices if you like. Go slow, listen to how your body responds to the techniques, and don’t hurt yourself.
Our focus today is to awaken sensitivity to feel our belly space, and to help integrate muscle holding patterns residing in the abdominal wall. This is a slow moving and sequence progressing practice where the techniques prepare us for what comes next.
If you have uncontrolled heart and blood pressure concerns, or if you live with GI diagnosis like GERD, IBS, or similar, you might want to call or email me to talk about your condition(s) before attempting this practice.
With breath retentions, you are NOT trying to hold your breath as long as you can. You are aiming to be able to inhale gently without gasping after the holding. If the inhale gasps, you probably held your breath out too long.
Let me know how you find today’s practice if you try! Enjoy!
